A STEM focused journey to the Great Barrier Reef provides students with an extraordinary opportunity to study some of the worlds most significant natural environments. At the Moore Reef Pontoon, learners engage directly with marine biology, examining coral ecosystems and the science behind reef conservation. The Daintree Rainforest offers a contrasting look at one of the oldest living ecosystems on the planet, showcasing remarkable biodiversity and ancient evolutionary pathways. Students can deepen their understanding of ecology and Indigenous knowledge at Rainforestation Nature Park, before witnessing hands on conservation science at the Turtle Rehabilitation Centre on Fitzroy Island. Completing the experience, the Atherton Tablelands introduces the region’s volcanic history, unique geology and diverse ecosystems, providing a comprehensive and inspiring STEM encounter across marine, rainforest and highland environments.
